Understanding Nonprofits

Are donations to all nonprofits tax-deductible?

No. Only donations to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations and certain governmental entities are tax-deductible for individual donors. Contributions to many other types of nonprofits, such as 501(c)(4) or 501(c)(6) entities, are not deductible as charitable gifts.
